Twitch Backtracks on Some Usage Policy Changes

Twitch is backtracking on some of the changes announced to its video-on-demand (VOD) and third-party audio usage policies . The company is making the move after it received some unflattering user feedback.

Matthew DiPietro, Twitch's VP of Marketing & Communications, said that effective Thursday night, the newly-instated 2-hour maximum time limit on video highlights will be removed.

Sony Posts $261 Million Q1 Net Profit on Strong PS4 Sales, Weak Yen

It saw a $261 million first-quarter net profit thanks to brisk sales of its PlayStation 4 console and a weak JPY, but said it still expects a full-year loss.

The company's net profit came to 26.8 billion JPY ($261 million) for the three months through June, up from 3.1 billion JPY a year earlier, with sales rising 5.8 percent to 1.8 trillion JPY.

Microsoft Xbox One to Launch in China on 23 September

Microsoft Corp will launch its Xbox One gaming console in China on September 23, making it the first foreign company to start selling consoles in the world's third biggest gaming market.

Yusuf Mehdi, head of marketing and strategy for Microsoft's Xbox group, announced the launch date at an event in Shanghai.
